Why is an inspection important?
Under Act No. 250/2021 Coll. and Government Decree No. 190/2022 Coll., operators of designated electrical equipment must have inspections carried out at the prescribed intervals. Inspections prevent faults, fires and electric shock.
What does the inspection include?
- Visual inspection of the equipment and cabling
- A functional test including a simulated charge
- Measurement of insulation resistance and loop impedance
- Inspection of the installation according to ČSN 33 2000-7-722 and the documents of the charging station (ČSN EN 61851)
- An inspection report
Inspection intervals
- Initial inspection before commissioning
- Periodic inspections depending on the environment and the building, typically every 1–5 years (Annex 4 of Government Decree No. 190/2022 Coll.)
- Extraordinary inspections after repairs or a fault
Frequently asked questions
Is a wallbox inspection mandatory?
An initial inspection is required before a charging station is put into operation. The regulations set no separate interval for wallboxes: periodic inspections follow the environment and use of the building (for companies Annex 4 of Government Decree No. 190/2022 Coll.) and the manufacturer's instructions. Insurers and building managers often require them.
Do you inspect charging stations for companies as well as households?
Yes. We inspect wallboxes at family houses as well as public and company charging stations from our branches in Prague, Náchod, Rychnov nad Kněžnou and Hradec Králové.
