MPBP and machine passport – operating documentation

Is the manual for your machine missing? We prepare a local operating safety instruction (MPBP), a machine passport and operating documentation, so the machine complies with the regulations.

  • MPBP under Government Regulation No. 378/2001 Coll.
  • Machine passport and record card
  • For machines without a manual or documentation

When an MPBP is mandatory

If the accompanying documentation (the manual) for a machine is missing entirely, the employer is required under Government Regulation No. 378/2001 Coll. to draw up a local operating safety instruction (MPBP). The same applies when the manual does not cover the conditions of the particular operation.

What an MPBP contains

  • Rules for safe operation of the machine
  • Rules for maintenance and cleaning
  • Deadlines and methods for checks, inspections and repairs
  • Work procedures and prohibited activities
  • How to keep the operating log

Machine passport and operating documentation

We create a record card (passport) for the machine, into which the technical parameters are entered retrospectively. Maintenance, inspections, repairs and checks are then recorded in the card. It works as the machine's service book and shows during a check that you look after the machine.

How the process works

  1. We inspect the machine and establish its condition and safety features
  2. We assess the risks during operation and maintenance
  3. We prepare a tailor-made MPBP and a machine passport
  4. We hand over the documentation and brief the operators on it

What we need from you

  • Data from the machine's rating plate and photographs
  • Diagrams, drawings or remnants of the original documentation
  • Previous inspections and repair records
  • A contact for the operator and the responsible person

Frequently asked questions

Who must prepare an MPBP?

The duty lies with the employer, that is, the operator of the machine. You can entrust the preparation to us.

What is the difference between accompanying and operating documentation?

Accompanying documentation, that is, the manual, is supplied by the manufacturer with the machine. Operating documentation is kept by the operator. Maintenance, inspections, repairs and checks are recorded in it, much like in a car's service book.

Do you also inspect the electrical part of a machine?

Yes, we inspect the electrical equipment of machines under ČSN EN 60204-1. You can order the documentation and the inspection together.

Does an older machine also need CE marking?

A machine built before CE marking became mandatory does not need it. Its safe operation must, however, be ensured, for which the MPBP and operating documentation serve. After a machine is rebuilt, a conformity assessment and CE marking may be needed.
