How much a PV inspection costs
A home photovoltaic power plant: approximately 4,000 to 8,000 CZK depending on output, the number of inverters and the scope of the inspection. We give the exact price once the assignment is clarified. You will find indicative prices in the price list.
Is a PV inspection mandatory?
An initial inspection is required before the power plant is commissioned, and the distributor usually requires it for connection as well. There is no separate interval for PV: periodic inspections follow the environment and use of the building under Annex 4 of Government Decree No. 190/2022 Coll. and the manufacturer's instructions.
What the distributor wants
When a power plant is connected, the distribution system operator (ČEZ Distribuce, EG.D – formerly E.ON Distribuce, PREdistribuce) usually requires an inspection report and attaches it to the application for connection or a change of the metering point. The report may cover only the part of the installation that was worked on.
The distributors' procedures and forms change (for ČEZ Distribuce it is now a customer portal), so always check the requirements before submitting an application.
What we check during a PV inspection
- The DC side: insulation condition and protection, the "Solar DC" marking
- The AC side, inverters and protection
- Surge protection and earthing
- Bonding of the metal panel structures and its continuity
- Compliance with ČSN 33 2000-7-712 and documentation under ČSN EN 62446-1
How we proceed
- We agree the scope and date (ideally before you submit the application to the distributor)
- We carry out the inspection, measurements and tests
- We hand over the inspection report for the distributor and your own files
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a PV inspection for connection to the grid?
Yes, an initial inspection and an inspection report are usually required when a power plant is connected. Check the specific conditions with your distributor.
Does a PV inspection apply only to a new power plant?
The initial one, yes, but power plants in operation are also inspected periodically, depending on the environment and the manufacturer's instructions (for companies, at intervals under Annex 4 of Government Decree No. 190/2022 Coll.). After a fault or a lightning strike we recommend an extraordinary inspection.
Can a PV inspection be done for only part of the installation?
The distributor may require a report only for the part that was worked on, for example a new board or supply line. Check the scope in advance.
