How much an appliance and tool inspection costs
Prices are indicative. We set the final price after clarifying the number and type of equipment and prepare a non-binding quote. You will also find indicative prices in the price list.
- Single appliance or tool: approximately 80 to 140 CZK
- Flat rate up to 20 items: approximately 1,100 to 2,500 CZK
- Over 20 items: approximately 30 to 90 CZK per item, with a volume discount for larger numbers
What affects the price
- Number of items: the more there are, the lower the price per item
- Whether the appliances are in one place or spread over several buildings
- Whether you have a ready list with identification numbers
- Type of equipment: hand-held tools, extension leads, appliances, machines
- Condition of the equipment: repairs of defects found are charged separately
How often the inspections are done
The intervals are set by Table 1 of ČSN 33 1600 ed. 2 as amended by Amendment Z2. The group is determined by use: A = appliances lent or rented out, B = outdoors (construction, agricultural work), C = industry and crafts indoors, D = publicly accessible premises (schools, clubs, hotels), E = offices.
An inspection also includes the repeat test, so when the dates coincide, the inspection is enough. A new appliance is first inspected at the latest by the end of the interval from commissioning. For tools used more than 250 hours a year it is advisable to set shorter intervals in the local operating safety regulation.
- Group B, protection class I: inspection of hand-held tools and appliances every 12 months, of others every 24 months; repeat test in between after 3 and 6 months respectively
- Group B, class II and III: inspection every 24 months; repeat test every 6 months
- Group C, class I: inspection of hand-held ones every 24 months, of others every 96 months; repeat test after 6 and 24 months respectively
- Group C, class II and III: inspection of hand-held ones every 48 months, of others every 96 months; repeat test after 12 and 24 months respectively
- Groups D and E, all classes: inspection of hand-held ones every 48 months, of others every 96 months; repeat test after 12 and 24 months respectively
- Group A: before each issue to a tenant or user, then according to the group in which the equipment is used
- Extension leads: the same intervals as hand-held appliances, with a protective conductor treated as class I
What is checked during the inspection
- Inspection of the appliance, the cable and the plug
- Measurement of insulation resistance
- Measurement of protective conductor resistance (for class I) and of leakage or touch current
- Operation test
- A report with the measured values, the conclusion and a proposed date of the next inspection
