Which group a school and an office belong to
Under ČSN 33 1600 ed. 2, publicly accessible premises (schools, kindergartens, hotels) belong to group D and offices to group E. The same intervals apply to both.
Inspection intervals
- Hand-held appliances (hair dryers, vacuum cleaners, hand-held tools, cookers): every 12 months
- Other non-fixed appliances (copiers, kettles, computer equipment, lamps): every 24 months
- Extension leads and detachable cords: every 12 months
- After a repair and after any damage to the appliance: inspection before further use
What the inspection establishes
The technician inspects the appliances, measures the protective conductor resistance for class I, the insulation resistance and the leakage current, and performs an operation test. A damaged appliance is taken out of use, marked, and the operator receives a report about it.
How to prepare for the inspection
- Write down how many appliances you have and where they are (an estimate by rooms is enough)
- Ensure access to all rooms on the agreed date
- There is no need to take appliances out of service beforehand; we inspect in stages

Approximately from 39 CZK per item (above 20 items 39 to 90 CZK per item, volume discount), a single item 80 to 140 CZK, a flat rate up to 20 items 1,100 to 2,500 CZK. For schools and municipalities we prepare a quote according to the number of items and buildings.

Do kettles and copiers in an office have to be inspected too?
Yes, they are non-fixed appliances; in offices (group E) they are inspected every 24 months, unless they are hand-held appliances (12 months).
Who is responsible for appliance inspections?
The operator or employer, that is the school, municipality or company. A competent person arranges the inspection for them; our inspections are carried out by an inspection technician with a certificate.
